Horrible-scope

Just checked my horoscope and this is what it said:

Well, duh!

Unexpectedly ran into old friends Peter and Noel at Leon's, "Baltimore's Oldest and Friendliest Gay Bar", last night when I popped in for a quick cocktail after work.
We hugged and chatted and conversed for a little while. That was very nice.
Peter said had never been there before!
I could have sworn I took him there when we were dating, but I guess not.

Really dismayed at all the ads for porn I get in my email. "Horny Cheerleaders spread for YOU!"
*ugh!*
I could really do without seeing that.

Testing, 1, 2, 3

Today is National HIV Testing Day.
I just found out about this a few minutes ago. ---- Not going to get tested today though, 'cause I didn't plan for it.

little O' This, little O' That

Okay, stuff that's been going on:

1.) Been getting along with G. extremely well. It's like all the bad stuff never happened. Kind of like we're in love like we haven't been in a long time. I'm really enjoying this. ((G., I love you!!!!!!!))

2.) Excited about the new Big Brother 3 show that's coming on CBS soon. I'm not much of a "TV watcher", but I really enjoyed watching Big Brother 2 last summer. Hoping this one's even better.

3.) It's too effin' hot! I'm not one for extremes. Spring and Fall are my favorie seasons. I don't like to freeze, and I don't wanna cook. When I feel like I'm sweating my skin off, it's too dang hot.

4.) Been emailing my buddy Fireguy regularly, which is so cool! Nice to keep in touch with old friends.

5.) Had a good time tonight with G. shooting pool and having good conversations.
We're connecting in a way we hadn't for awhile. It's very refreshing.

Get The Cool Shoeshine

You know, if I were a recording artist I would never let them use my song in a TV commercial.
I was bussing a table at work yesterday and the song "Orinco Flow" by Enya came on and I thought how refreshing it would be to have some Crystal Light, and I don't even like Crystal Light!

It's terrible and if artists cared more for thier material than they would "just say 'No!'"

When I hear "Good Vibrations" by the Beach Boys I think of Sunkist orange soda and when I hear Elton John's "Sad Songs (Say So Much)" I think of Sassoon Jeans (and I don't even think they make them anymore).

I was very dismayed the other day when I was watching The Young and the Restless and the song "19/2000" by Gorillaz was used in a commercial for Icebreakers chewing gum.
No! Not Gorillaz!
Disapointed that they "sold out", but then again, who doesn't to some extent?

Anyway. . .
Off today which is great. Gonna go enjoy it now!

What A Guy!

I have another new favorite---actor Guy Pearce, star of the films Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, and one of my favorite movies, Memento.
If you haven't seen it yet, go out and rent Memento NOW. You won't regret it, I promise you.

I watched Priscilla for the first time yesterday and exclaimed in delight
"I didn't know Guy was in this!".
I was actually very impressed with that movie. I had taped it off Showtime over five years ago and hadn't watched it because I thought it was going to be one of those depressing "It's so tragic being gay" movies like The Boys in the Band which made me want to down a whole bottle of Unisom and a fifth of Absolut after I watched it.

Priscilla's theme was "Don't be afraid to be yourself",
Which is a good maxim for anybody!

Hello, Again!

It's been awhile since I blogged. Sorry about that! I'll try not to let it happen again.

Woke up this morning, buzzed my teeth and walked over to the City Cafe for a cup of "wake-up juice" and I saw them shoot the new Infiniti car commercial in front of the George Washinton Monument in Mount Vernon. I saw the cameras and ran over to this woman and asked "What are you filming?!?!" all excitedly 'cause I thought maybe it was a new John Waters movie or something. No such luck. Still, it's neat that they chose Charm City to film their commercial. B'more is the place to be!

Gay Pride Day!!!!
Actually it's "Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Pride Day" which is an awfully long title, if you ask me--but nobody asked me, did they?)

What can I say about Pride? Tons of all kinds of people, drag queens, the smell of sausages and soft pretzels, people selling anything with a rainbow, lambda, or pink triangle on it.
It was OK, I guess. I had fun. It was more exciting when I first came out, I think. I've been to every Baltimore Pride since 1988---kind of over it a little, but it's still nice to see all my "gay brothers and sisters" out and about having fun.

G. went to the Block Party after all and his friend from New York and his friend's new boyfriend came down, which was very nice. They are so much in love and it's very obvious. It's very refreshing to see that. It reminds me of when G. and I first got together.

Saw alot of people I know (I'm not gonna list 'em all here--you know who you are!). Didn't see a trace of G.'s "boyfriend"---which was a very good thing!

Sunday was the day of the "festival" and G. and I had to work because it was Father's Day, so we didn't go to that.

G. put together an impromptu (sp?) dinner party the other day, and kind of sprung it on me suddenly. It was unexpected, but
a very pleasant surprise.

Nothing else exciting is going on right now.
That may change at any moment, of course.

Good Day

It's raining and dreary, but it's gonna be a good day anyway!

I just got my hair done. I got the haircut I usually get. Didn't want to risk having a 'hair mistake' right before Pride.

Gotta get on the horn and make plans for tomorrow, and then get ready for work later, so that's just what I'll do!

Ain't We Lucky We Got 'Em?

I've had the theme song to the TV show "Good Times" in my head all day. It's weird, because I haven't seen that show in ages. There's absolutely no reason for it.

Going to get my hair cut tomorrow. I usually get the same old thing: Kind of a "bowl" haircut with the sides and back shaved real short and the front kind of longish. I have a real long face and the bangs help me not look like such a Conehead. Maybe I should try something different.

I decided I am going to the Block Party. Hell with it!--- Why not?

Things That Make You Go Hmmmmm

So, I'm still wondering what to do:
Go to Gay Pride----or not?
*hmmmmm*

I probably will risk the wrath (wrisk the rath?) and go to the Block Party anyway.
I prob'ly will regret this for one reason or another, but I'll be kicking myself in the tail if I don't go. I have, after all, been waiting for this for months.

I haven't even discussed it with G. yet. I'll do that sometime within the next day or so. I'll let you know what happens, of course.

Aviod the Noid

Went to a Chinese Restaraunt yesterday with G. I got some General Tso's Chicken and some shrimp toast. I love shrimp toast.
It's so greasy though.

G. and I saw John who used to work at The Allegro, but now works at The Hippo, and G. and I played pool with him for a little while. John said he can't wait 'til Pride Day, he was all excited and then he asked me if we were going to Pride and I just avoided answering.

This whole "Pride thing" is getting to me.

Trying to be really good and not use this blog to gripe about my husband. It's very difficult sometimes, though!

Saw this guy, Kid (who I used to chat with on Gay.com), while I walking down the street this morning. "Yo, Wonder Boy!" he yells from across the street. Very weird feeling to be called "Wonder Boy" in public.

I have to do some laundry now. I really really really don't want to but my work uniform is filthy.

I just woke up.
I had a good night's sleep last night, actually.

Got into a tiff with G. over something stupid. He called a little while ago and we worked it out.
I hate it when we argue, but it happens in any relationship.
I let him get away with alot more than I should, just in the interest of keeping the peace. I've been trying to be better about that lately.
Part of the reason we had so many problems in the past was that I was upset or angry, either at something he said or something he did--but I never showed it.
How can he know something's wrong if I don't tell him?

Don't Strain Your Brain

I just got home from work.
Now, I'm sitting back and having a cocktail (Bourbon and Coke).

I haven't heard from Fireguy yet. I emailed him at his Yahoo email adress. Hopefully he still uses that email, otherwise I don't know how to reach him.

Was going to chat on AOL, but suddenly, I'm not in the mood.

Didn’t sleep that good last night. Had this nightmare where all these bugs were flying at me trying to bite me.
It was pretty bad.
Glad I don't dream like that every night.

Gay Pride Day is coming.
G. said he’s not going, but I can go if I want.
Yeah, that’ll go over real well.
It’s a test, you see. A trap, actually. He wants to find out if I’ll actually go to Gay Pride without him.
He knows how much I enjoy Pride Day so the whole situation just sucks.
If I go without him, he’ll get upset. If I don’t go, I’ll get upset.
I can't win.

Nothing to eat in the house. I keep opening up the ‘fridge and expecting food to magically appear.
I swear, I’ve looked in there five times already. I’ll get something to eat when I get to work, but I’m hungry now.

Been trying to contact my good friend Fireguy. I’ve been thinking about him all the time lately.
We had a “thing” around 4 years ago, but for various reasons it never went further than that.
He met someone, then I hooked up with G. and we kind of lost contact. I just wonder how he’s doing.
I just sent him an email, so hopefully I’ll hear from him soon.

Note to UrbanBaltoBoy: I haven’t forgotten you. You’ll be hearing from me soon.
(That’s a promise, not a threat!)

Too Hot

My first day back at work and it was horrible.
It's like all the morons and jerks sat in my section to try my patience! And they did.

The air conditioning is broken in the apartment and the maintenence people haven't come to fix it yet.
It's been so hot I can barely stand it.
I'm calling the leasing office tomorrow and giving them an earful. I want my AC, dammit!

Still haven't seen Star Wars. Getting G. to see a movie is like pulling teeth!
We did rent Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone on DVD. That was pretty good.
Nice effects.
The guy who plays Oliver Wood (Sean Biggerstaff) is a total hottie!

No Matter Where You Go . . . There You Are!

Back from vacation! Hurray!
It was alot of fun, but it's good to be back. Canada was great. It was kind of weird everything being in french, though. I'm not used to not being able to read anything around me. The signs didn't say STOP, they said ARRAIT. The sign said SORTIE instead of EXIT. It gives you great respect for foreigners visiting the United States. I made a promise to myself to be patient and understanduing of all people visiting this country who don't understand English.
The men in Montreal were amazing. Very hot. Totally, amazingly, unfuckingbelievably hot.

Anyway, it's good to be back, S'posed to go see Spider-Man or Star Wars today, maybe.

Kind of mentally drained from my trip, I think.
